Fahrenheit 451

I am really, really excited. This is the first free book that I’ve gotten that has just been sitting out somewhere. It is part of the King County Library System‘s contribution to The Big Read. I have already read this book, but that was sometime ago. I’ll have to shoot my way through it again, and then re-release it into the wild.

Red Mars

An exhilarating story that explores the the intersection of ethics and interstellar travel. The only think I think that I didn’t like was the treatment of capitalism in the story – there didn’t seem to be much of a counter-argument to Oleg’s plea for Utopia. Makes me want to read Green and Blue Mars desperately.

Sandkings

Actually, I only read the one short story. The link is the the anthology, although the short story is present therein. Amazing work of short fiction.

Dune

Dune

One of the SciFi classics. I have no idea how many times I’ve read this book but it’s well over a handful. The series peters out towards the end but the first few books are outstanding.
